Tegan Darke is a Student Support Coach at Business and Employment Southeast Tasmania Inc. (BEST), where she works alongside young people as they explore meaningful career pathways, build their confidence, and develop a clearer sense of their future. Whether a young person is trying to figure out their next step or navigating a major transition, Tegan offers calm, practical, and personalised support to help them move forward with clarity and self-belief.
With extensive experience across leadership, youth engagement, administration, and small business management, Tegan brings a well-rounded skill set to her role. She is known for her ability to build respectful, trusting relationships with young people, supporting their wellbeing and helping them recognise their strengths, especially during key turning points in their learning and personal development. Her style is grounded in effective communication, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping young people feel capable and supported.
Before joining BEST, Tegan owned and operated a successful hairdressing business for nine years, leading a team of up to 15 staff, mentoring apprentices, and managing every aspect of the business. This experience strengthened her leadership, problem‑solving, and people‑focused approach. More recently, she worked across multiple schools providing relief administration support, further deepening her understanding of school communities and strengthening her ability to connect with students, families, and staff in dynamic learning environments.
Tegan is valued for her dedication, resilience, and people‑centred mindset. She brings a calm, steady presence and a genuine passion for supporting young people to see what’s possible for them.
Outside of work, Tegan loves spending quality time with her family and friends, cheering on her children at their sporting events, and getting out for walks with her beloved Frenchie, Rocky.
