Andrew Hyatt is a driving force behind Business and Employment Southeast Tasmania Inc. (BEST). He leads the team with a clear focus on making sure the organisation’s work delivers real, lasting impact for the Southeast community.
With over 30 years of experience across a range of industries, and more than 20 years working in employment, education, and training, Andrew has a strong grasp of what regional communities need to grow and succeed. He holds a Diploma of Leadership and Management and a Certificate IV in Project Management and is well known for his ability to connect with people, build strong partnerships, and advocate for better services, not just locally, but across Tasmania, other states in Australia, and even in New Zealand.
Andrew’s strength is in turning ideas into action. He’s passionate about creating change that sticks, working alongside his team to build practical, community-led solutions that improve access to jobs, training, and education.
Since 2019, Andrew has played a key role in workforce development in Southeast Tasmania, first through the South East Region Development Association (SERDA), and now with BEST. His work has led to:
Earlier in his career, Andrew led statewide teams at an Apprenticeship Network Provider, supporting employers, apprentices, and trainees to navigate government funding and training contracts.
Andrew’s passion lies in driving meaningful, systems-level change. He’s a strategic thinker who thrives on turning vision into action, working with his team and partners to build sustainable, community-led solutions. Whether it’s improving access to education, training, or employment, Andrew is committed to creating opportunities that make a real difference in people’s lives and for business growth across the Southeast.
Outside of work, Andrew is a dedicated community volunteer. He’s coached cricket at the Sorell Cricket Club for six years and regularly supports local initiatives like the South East Tasmania Salvos Coffee Van and the Sorell Business Association.
