Samantha Prentice is the Programs Administrator at BEST and a key member of the Regional Jobs Hub team. Often the first friendly face you will meet, Sam plays an important role in connecting people with the services, support, and opportunities BEST offers, while ensuring the Hub runs smoothly behind the scenes.
A proud Southeast Tasmanian local who grew up on the Tasman Peninsula, Sam brings strong understanding of the region, its strengths, its challenges, and the barriers faced by local jobseekers and businesses. Her strong local insight allows her to provide practical, empathetic support that is grounded in real community experience.
Sam plays a central role in supporting the activities and events delivered through the South East Training and Jobs Hub, helping create welcoming, well-coordinated experiences for participants, partners, and the broader community. She also contributes to promoting BEST programs through digital platforms and communications, drawing on more than 18 years’ experience in marketing, media, and campaign delivery.
Her career includes work across local publications such as The Sorell Times, Tasman Gazette, and The East Coast View, alongside digital marketing and strategic communications roles. She has also supported small businesses as a mentor through the federally funded Digital Solutions program.
Known for her warm and approachable nature, Sam is passionate about helping people feel supported, confident, and connected. She is a strong advocate for the Southeast community and takes pride in sharing and promoting the unique stories, strengths, and values that make the region special. Whether assisting a jobseeker to engage with our services, supporting a Hub activity, or welcoming someone through the door, Sam ensures everyone feels valued and supported.
When she’s not behind the counter at BEST, Sam channels her creativity into jewellery making and painting, recharges in nature on a good hike, or spends time caring for her beautiful blended family.
