What is Regional Engagement and Experience Program – REEP?

The Regional Engagement and Experience Program (REEP) supports young people aged 15–19 in regional Tasmania to navigate their transition from school to further education, training, or employment. The Regional Engagement and Experience Program (REEP) is funded by the Tasmanian Community Fund and delivered by Business and Employment Southeast Tasmania (BEST). The Tasmanian Community Fund is an independent organisation that supports and strengthens communities across the state by investing directly in local initiatives. REEP is a three year pilot program which provides personalised, school‑integrated support that builds confidence, career awareness, and real‑world experience.

Working closely with schools, employers, and local partners, REEP helps students access career planning, job‑readiness skills, industry exposure, and local opportunities. The program is designed for students who may face geographic, social, or economic barriers, with Year 10 identified as a key point for early and meaningful intervention. REEP is youth‑centred, flexible, and community‑led, ensuring support is tailored to each young person’s goals and circumstances.
