Kathryn Builds a Bright Future in Construction!
Kathryn’s journey is a powerful example of how determination, opportunity, and community support can shape a successful career path. After completing the transformative Nextgen Trade Training Program, an intensive 8-week course designed to equip participants with entry-level construction skills, Kathryn has secured a Carpentry Apprenticeship, marking the beginning of her exciting new career in the construction industry.
Her success highlights the immense value of training and mentorship. At the program’s initial information session, Kathryn expressed a strong desire for a career change and a keen interest in gaining practical, hands-on skills. Through the program, she not only developed essential skills but also gained the confidence to apply for an apprenticeship with Podmatrix. Just two weeks into her apprenticeship, Kathryn’s dedication and hard work have already made a noticeable impact.
A recent visit from Tara, who met with Kathryn and her employer Mitch, underscored Kathryn’s growing confidence and skills. The visit was a testament to how Kathryn has successfully applied her training in a real-world setting. This achievement is a direct result of the collaborative efforts of Podmatrix, Tas TAFE, BEST, and Master Builders Tasmania—organisations working together to empower individuals like Kathryn while addressing the workforce needs in our community.
BEST (Business and Employment Southeast Tasmania) has played a pivotal role in this success, partnering with industry leaders to create tailored training programs that connect local talent with meaningful employment opportunities. Kathryn’s achievement exemplifies the program’s mission to upskill individuals and help them thrive in fulfilling careers.
Congratulations to Kathryn on this remarkable milestone! Her story serves as an inspiring reminder of the power of community-driven initiatives in unlocking potential and building brighter futures for individuals and our local workforce.
