We are proud to celebrate local young person Olivia Hudson, who recently attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp after being nominated by Business and Employment Southeast Tasmania (BEST) team members Sophie Ross, our Regional Study Hub Student Support Coordinator, and Andrew Hyatt, Program Leader at BEST.

Olivia was selected for the program through Rotary and embraced the opportunity to challenge herself, grow as a leader, and connect with like-minded young people. Speaking at a recent Rotary Club of Sorell event, Olivia reflected on her experience and shared the many benefits she gained through participating in the program.

Andrew attended the Rotary Club of Sorell event on behalf of the BEST team and praised Olivia’s presentation, noting that it was clear she had found the experience both engaging and rewarding.

Olivia is an active participant of our Suburban University Study Hub Program and is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Alongside her studies, she maintains strong connections within the local community and is an active member of both the Sorell Cricket Club and Sorell Football Club. She is passionate about creating opportunities for young people to grow, connect, and succeed.

RYLA is one of Rotary’s premier youth development programs, providing young adults with an intensive leadership experience designed to build confidence, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and community connections. Participants spend a week immersed in workshops, presentations, team activities, and leadership development experiences alongside other emerging leaders from across the state.
